Description

This pattern will let you make a Mori Girl style collared dress for your Maru and Friends® doll.

If you see a girl that looks as though she is a fairy tale forest dweller who has just stepped out of an enchanted wood, chances are good you’ve spotted a Mori Girl.  Born in Japan as a subculture, Mori Girl style embodies living in the moment and living in harmony with nature.

Mori (meaning forest) Girl style is all about natural fibres and colours from nature – creams, browns, greens and autumnal oranges, reds and yellows.  The style also favours a lot of layering.  This dress can be used as a ‘foundation layer’ for Mori Girl style, but also works as a cute, everyday dress.

You can choose to line your dress or make it with facings.  The lined version can be made as a reversible dress.  Two looks in one!

 Reversible Option:

  • 1/3 yard of light weight cotton* as a main fabric

I will be using this pattern as a basic sloper for the 20″ Maru doll even though it has an a-line silhouette. I am awaiting my boy doll and am eagerly anticipating how to convert girl patterns to either unisex or boy patterns. I highly recommend Kelibu Designs for your doll pattern needs.
