$5.99

This digital PDF pattern will allow you to make a beautiful Mori Girl style ruffled dress and slip skirt for your A Girl for All Time® dolls!

If you see a girl that looks as though she is a fairy tale forest dweller who has just stepped out of an enchanted wood, chances are good you’ve spotted a Mori Girl.  Born in Japan as a subculture, Mori Girl style embodies living in the moment and living in harmony with nature.

Mori (meaning forest) Girl style is all about natural fibres and colours from nature – creams, browns, greens and autumnal oranges, reds and yellows.  The dress features ruffled layers and a clean looking, placket closure in the back.  Also included is a Slip Skirt.  Mori style favours a lot of layering and the Slip Skirt works perfectly under the dress.  This dress can be used as a ‘foundation layer’ for Mori Girl style, but also works as a cute, everyday dress.  This pattern coordinates with other KeLibu Mori Girl patterns.

I love that the pattern pieces are provided for the dress tiers instead of having to measure and draw out my own pattern on graph paper. I already have the shrug for the Mori style and am looking at the other Mori patterns available for other dolls to re-size to my AGAT dolls.

Another well-done pattern. I hadn’t heard of Mori Girl stole before I saw this pattern and since I’ve had a lot of fun googling for ideas. What I love about Kelibu patterns is you can count on them to fit. I even followed the directions on this one. 😉 (I’be been sewing since I was a kid and truthfully enjoy the puzzle of figuring out for myself how the pieces go together but this time I challenged myself to do things step by step. It was so easy to follow!) I highly recommend! CoraMaezy’s friend Katkin wants to be a Mori girl too so we did a little adjusting for her dress (which will get more embellishments soon.)

I made this dress to be more bohemian — lots of gathers and lace, but with some heirloom lace and wing needle stitching on the hem. What drew me to the pattern were the layers. What impressed me was the fit! This is an excellent pattern for your basic pattern slopers. The neckline and armscyes fit very well. And if you’re lazy like me, you don’t even have to figure the elastic for the skirt — the measurement was perfect. I see this pattern being my basic pattern for a gathered skirt dress. And the added slip gives me another layering piece for other garments. BTW – the designer has a free video tutorial on her site for sewing a lined bodice, which makes this a great pattern for a confident beginner. Happy sewing!
