This pattern coordinates with other KeLibu patterns.

This digital doll clothes pattern will let you sew and adorable Woodland Elf costume for your Kaye Wiggs® MSD doll.

This PDF pattern will allow you to sew a beautiful five-piece Woodland Elf costume for your Kaye Wiggs® MSD doll.  The pattern includes leggings, a shirt with two sleeve variations, a vest, a belt and a hooded capelet.  Choose greens and browns for a spring/summer look, warm oranges, browns and yellows for an autumn feel or white and grey for a winter feel.  KeLibu pattern testers have tried these garments on the old MSD body type, new MSD body type and the Mei Mei body.  They fit all of these dolls but you may need to make small adjustments to the leggings, depending on the stretchiness of the fabric you use.

Supplies

Leggings

  • 9 inches by 9 inches of light to mid-weight 2-way stretch knit fabric with at least 50% stretch*
  • 2 ½ inches by 7 inches of knit mesh or contrasting knit fabric
  • 6⅛ inches of ¼ inch wide elastic
  • Ballpoint needle
  • Matching thread
  • Bodkin or safety pin

 

Shirt

  • ¼ yard of light to mid-weight knit fabric
  • 6 x ⅛inch wide eyelets and washers* OR
  • 6 small jump rings
  • 5 sew-in snaps
  • 3 inches by 6 ¼ inches of fusible interfacing
  • 4 inches by 3 inches of Heat N Bond Lite (for eyelet option only)
  • 12 inches of thin cord, ribbon or knit fabric
  • Ballpoint needle
  • Matching thread
  • Awl
  • Eyelet setter (eyelets) or hand sewing needle (jump rings)
  • Tailor’s chalk or similar

*If you can’t find eyelet washers, you can use small jump rings instead

 

Vest

  • 11 inches by 5 inches of felt
  • 2 sew-in snaps
  • 1 x ¼ – ⅜ inch wide button
  • Matching thread
  • Contrasting thread
  • Universal needle
  • Optional – alcohol based marker (Sharpie, Copic etc.) to colour the veins
  • Tailor’s chalk

 

Belt

  • 6 inches by 5 inches of leather/vinyl
  • 6 x ⅛ eyelets with washers (can substitute jump rings) OR
  • 6 small jump rings
  • 15 inches of thin cord or ribbon to lace the belt
  • 2 x picture frame D-ring hangers OR
  • 2 small D-rings or jump rings
  • 2 small brads
  • 1 ½ inches of ¼ – ⅜ inch wide ribbon
  • Leather/vinyl needle
  • Matching thread
  • Awl
  • Eyelet setter (eyelets) or hand sewing needle (jump rings)
  • Lighter or fray block for ribbon
  • Glue
  • Tailor’s chalk or similar
  • Optional – small ornaments or glass bottles to hang on the belt

 

Hooded Capelet

  • ¼ yard of mid-weight wool or wool like fabric that doesn’t fray
  • Closure of your choice. Jewelry closures such as toggle claps or lobster clasps work well.
  • Universal or sharp needle
  • Matching thread
  • Tailor’s chalk or similar
