Strange question… how can you attach the wings if your doll has an outfit that doesn’t have the special hole to slip them into (like in the outfit your model is wearing)? I’m sure one could just make the outfit… but what if the doll’s companion wants to have the doll wear something else without the convenient hole and have wings too?
Hi Krystyl! The outfit doesn’t have a special hole…it’s just the back of the shirt. So as long as your bodice is low enough to place the wings at a good spot on the back and tight enough to hold them in place, this will work. (i.e. if you had a strapless dress on your doll, you could slip the U into the back of the dress.) Sometimes this won’t work so in that case, you’ll have to alter your wires a bit.
I will add a blog post showing a diagram of how you would do that.
I’ve added a post about an alternate wire configuration for these wings in the Make It…Change It! section of the blog.
These wings are amazing!
Thank you Chris!
Do you add any water to your glue to make it come out so nice and easy?
Hi Kimmi. I didn’t add any water to the Diamond Glaze…it comes with that consistency. However, I did notice that my older bottle had thickened up slightly. Since this adhesive is water based, you could add a little bit of water to it to thin it if needed.
