I watched a tutorial video by Fancy Fairy recently where she used a product that I had never considered for wing making. Let me tell you, it works great! With Halloween coming up, I wanted to give you all a little “treat” so I designed a pair of Tinkerbell-inspired wings for you all! If you are a newsletter subscriber, you have access to the pattern through the Newsletter Subscribers Download Page on the KeLibu website. Not a subscriber? No problem! Fantastic look. Love it. I don’t know what hockey tape is but figure I can find it in sporting goods! I would like to see more fairy wing designs and I do own a Scan and Cut machine, so downloading files would be great. You do excellent work and I really enjoy your videos. I especially like the Steampunk Wings. Could one use a thin Bass wood instead of cardstock? Hope you are feeling up to your old self soon.
Renee
Thank you for your kind words!
Hockey tape is used to wrap hockey sticks. You could also use medical tape if it’s the fabric kind. The floral tape stays sticky and would just attract dirt.
You could try the thin basswood…you might have to make some adjustments, like making the dowels longer, to accommodate the extra width. I was originally going to make them with basswood but I wanted to use materials that everyone could find/cut, even if they were doing it by hand.
Love them
Yay!
Love this. What is the square for in the svg? And is the approximate length of the wings about ten Inches?
Thank you so much for such a cute pattern.
Hi Rae,
The square is a 1 inch square so you can make sure the SVG imports into your cutting program at the right size. I export my SVG files at 96 dpi, because that is the resolution that my cutting software uses. Yours may not, so I include the square so you can tell if it resized.
As they sit in the file, they are about 7 5/8 inches tall.
Where do you find the pattern, I don’t seem to be able to find it.
Thanks
